Recent Research into Sjogren's syndrome

In this update, I am sharing the recent research reports into Sjogren's syndrome. For me, the most promising research is one that gives us hope of either new treatments or an understanding of what causes Sjogren's. That's why I am most excited about No. 5. and that is especially as I am someone who is so sensitive to medical drugs.

Recent Research into Sjogren's syndrome
  1. Molecular Mechanism of Sphingosine-1-Phosphate Receptor 1 Regulating CD4(+) Tissue Memory in situ T Cells in Primary Sjogren's Syndrome The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular mechanism by which CD4+T reside in labial glandular tissue of pSS patients.
  2. Primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS)-related cerebellar ataxia: a systematic review and meta-analysis Aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the currently available evidence regarding pSS-related cerebellar ataxia.
  3. Diagnosis and management of lung involvement in systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren’s syndrome: a literature review. Aims to provide a comprehensive overview of their diagnosis and management to physicians taking care of patients with connective tissue diseases.
  4. Association between EBV serological patterns and lymphocytic profile of SjS patients support a virally triggered autoimmune epithelitis. Aims to evaluate circulating B and T-cell subsets of SjS patients and to assess their relation to the EBV background of patients.
  5. Effect of the Chinese Herbal Medicine SS-1 on a Sjögren’s Syndrome-Like Disease in Mice Read the easy to understand Summary Showed that this formula could both prolong patient sleep duration and decrease the blood pressure of patients.
  6. Olfactory impairment in patients with primary Sjogren’s syndrome and its correlation with organ involvement and immunological abnormalities. To assess the olfactory functions of patients with primary Sjögren’s syndrome and to correlate these findings with their disease activity.
  7. Cancer incidence in primary Sjogren's syndrome: Data from the French hospitalization database. To explore the associations between cancer and primary Sjogren's syndrome.
  8. Efficacy of an Intranasal Tear Neurostimulator in Sjögren Syndrome Patients To assess the efficacy and safety of an intranasal tear neurostimulator device in Sjögren syndrome patients.
  9. Cerebellar degeneration in primary Sjögren syndrome: a case report. Cerebellar degeneration is a rare and severe presentation of primary Sjögren syndrome. There are only six patients reported worldwide to be affected by cerebellar atrophy associated with primary Sjögren syndrome. This report describes a patient with primary Sjögren syndrome who presented with ataxia due to cerebellar degeneration.
  10. Histopathology, salivary flow and ultrasonography of the parotid gland: three complementary measurements in primary Sjogren's syndrome. Discovered that these 3 measurements cannot directly replace each other in the diagnosis of Sjogren's syndrome.
  11. Sjogren's syndrome associated with bilateral peripheral facial paralysis. The involvement of cranial nerves in SS is an extremely rare complication that can only be found 3 times in the literature.
  12. Trajectory mapping of primary Sjogren's syndrome via transcriptome learning demonstrates limitations of peripheral blood sequencing. Highlights a major limitation to the utility of broad blood transcriptome analysis in the context of primary SS.
Are you, like me, pleased that there have been quite a few studies into Sjogren's? Which is your favorite study here? And most importantly do you have a study that I have missed and should be included in the list?
